Proofs Required from Victims
Victims of WhatsApp fraud should collect the following evidence:
- Screenshots of Chats: Save conversations with the fraudster, including phone numbers and messages.
- Bank Transaction Records: If money was transferred, retain transaction details for complaint purposes.
- Fraudulent Links and QR Codes: Keep a record of malicious links or QR codes received.
- Call Logs and Voice Messages: If the fraudster made voice calls or sent voice messages, store recordings.
Complaint Reference Numbers: Report the scam to WhatsApp and local authorities and retain complaint details.
