Proofs Required from Victims
Victims of cyber insurance fraud should collect the following evidence:
- Screenshots and Emails: Capture screenshots of fraudulent emails, fake websites, or phishing attempts. Save all emails received from the fraudster, especially those that include links to fake websites or requests for personal information.
- Transaction Records: Keep records of any transactions made on fraudulent websites or to fraudulent bank accounts. This includes screenshots of payments made for non-existent policies or claims.
- Communication Logs: Save any chat logs, phone call records, or communication with the fraudster, especially if they provided fake policy numbers, claims, or requested personal details.
- Website or App URLs: If a fake insurance website or app was used, make sure to capture the URL and any other identifying information, such as the website’s design or content, that can help in identifying the fraud.
- Account Access Logs: If the fraudster accessed your account, check your insurance account for any unusual activities, such as changes to your details or unauthorized claims.
