Modus Operandi
there is a lack of detailed, documented cases from reputable news sources that focus exclusively on call merging scams. While the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and various media outlets have issued warnings about the emergence of such scams, they often discuss the modus operandi and preventive measures rather than providing detailed accounts of specific incidents.

General Modus Operandi of Call Merging Scams:
- Initial Contact: Scammers call the victim, claiming to be from a reputable organization or under some pretext.
- Request to Merge Calls: They request the victim to merge the current call with another call, often pretending it’s with a bank official or law enforcement officer.
- Interception of OTPs: Once the calls are merged, the scammer initiates a transaction that prompts the bank to send an OTP to the victim. Through the merged call, the scammer overhears the OTP and completes unauthorized transactions
